I am Usha. I am part-time faculty at NYU. I received my PhD in philosophy from Columbia University. Before Philosophy, I completed a master’s in English and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering at the National University of Singapore.

My research lies in the intersection of ethics, feminist thought, and ancient philosophy. I think, moral agency, our ability to act and respond as ethical beings, is both defined and constrained by our emotional dispositions and our imagination. You can find more about my research here.

Besides teaching and writing philosophical articles, I sing, attempt Indian cooking, and take long walks with my doe-headed, horse-souled dog, Bernie.
