About
I am an independent researcher and adjunct faculty at New York University. I specialise in Ancient Greek philosophy and ethics.
I received my PhD in philosophy from Columbia University. Before philosophy, I studied english literature and chemical engineering.
I inquire about what makes us distinctively human beyond our narrowly rational capacities, by studying our affective and imaginative abilities. I think this has consequences for what we should take ourselves to be capable of and for what we ought to hold each other responsible for.
Besides philosophy, I enjoy singing, attempting Indian cooking, and taking long walks in Manhattan with my deer-headed, horse-souled dog, Bernie.
